Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka have officially been elected as president and vice president, after the General Election Commission (KPU) of Indonesia announced the results of the recapitulation on Wednesday night (3/20). Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the people who had exercised their right to vote in the 2024 election.
“We want to express our highest thanks and appreciation to those who have used their right to vote in the 2024 elections,” he said at a press conference at Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/20).
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the KPU and the Election Organizers Ethics Council (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 election, as well as to the TNI (Indonesian Armed Forces) and the Polri (Indonesian National Police) for ensuring that this year’s democratic party ran smoothly and safely.
“On February 14, 2024, we experienced the smooth implementation of the election. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Indonesian Forward Coalition, thank you to the KPU, DKPP, and a big appreciation to the TNI-Polri who made the 2024 election very orderly, safe, and peaceful,” he said.
Prabowo then thanked the Indonesian Forward Coalition (KIM) that supported him, especially the chairmen and all members of political parties who were part of it. In addition, Prabowo also thanked the National Campaign Team (TKN) and the supporting volunteers.
“We express our thanks and appreciation to all chairmen and all members of all parties in KIM, then TKN, volunteers, mothers present here (Kertanegara IV residence),” Prabowo said.
Prabowo invited all Indonesians to unite in bringing the country towards prosperity and justice. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of nationalism amidst differences.
“We invite all Indonesians to look forward together, unite, hold hands. We must be harmonious, work together to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” said Prabowo.
“We must strengthen the spirit of nationalism, if there are differences among us, that is good. We respect differences. The election is over, we must respect all the choices of the people,” he continued.
Finally, he emphasized that Prabowo-Gibran will be a president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesians. Prabowo said that they will prove this mandate by being leaders who truly serve the people.
“We have been chosen by the people, the people’s mandate is in our hands. Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president of the government for all Indonesians. For those who did not choose us, give us a chance. We will prove to be a president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesians,” he concluded. (SENOPATI)
