People’s School: Empowering Andra, a Fatherless Child

Thanks to the People’s School initiative launched by President Prabowo Subianto, Andra Farizki Ramdhani, a 10th-grade student at SRMA 10 in South Jakarta, has found new hope despite growing up without a father. Raised by his hardworking mother, Andra expressed gratitude for the opportunity to receive proper education despite financial struggles. The People’s School, where Andra studies, is a boarding school that has provided him with a structured daily routine and a supportive learning environment.

Andra’s days are filled with morning prayers, exercise, classes, and extracurricular activities such as judo and being part of the student flag-raising team and the youth Red Cross. He appreciates the detailed explanations by teachers that help him better understand his lessons. Despite missing his family, Andra finds comfort in the lively atmosphere at the dormitory, where he has formed strong friendships with his roommates and enjoys shared moments of laughter and camaraderie.

The facilities at SRMA 10 have exceeded Andra’s expectations, with comfortable beds, study rooms, and an environment that keeps him focused. He particularly enjoys studying informatics and dreams of becoming a judo athlete while pursuing higher education at the Defense University (Unhan) to fulfill his mother’s wishes. Andra is determined to succeed not only for himself but also to honor his mother, who has always been his strongest supporter.

With the opportunity to study at the People’s School without financial burden, Andra feels grateful for the gateway to hope that it offers underprivileged children who are eager to learn. He believes that the school eliminates barriers such as the national selection process and additional costs found in state schools, allowing students to focus solely on their education. Andra’s experiences at the People’s School have instilled in him a sense of independence and determination, supported by his mother’s unwavering prayers, as he strives to achieve his dreams.
