In a video conference focusing on renewable energy development and oil production expansion in East Java, Prabowo highlighted Indonesia’s ability to efficiently produce energy and streamline logistics chains. He stressed the importance of energy independence in Indonesia’s quest for national sovereignty, outlining plans to launch 55 new renewable energy projects, including geothermal power plants, to offer clean, dependable, and efficient energy solutions throughout the archipelago.
Acknowledging the essential role of various ministries, regulatory bodies, and energy companies like Medco Energi and ExxonMobil, President Prabowo commended their support in Indonesia’s energy transition. While highlighting the country’s vast oil and gas reserves, he underscored the significance of renewable energy, particularly solar power, in ensuring energy self-sufficiency for communities nationwide. Prabowo expressed hope for Indonesia’s future, viewing solar energy as a promising prospect for rural areas, districts, regencies, and remote islands.
