Unlocking Health: Free Checks for Disease Prevention

The Presidential Communication Office’s Senior Expert, Hariqo Wibawa Satria, emphasized the significance of the Free Health Check (CKG) program in promoting a healthier nation. CKG serves as the initial step towards disease prevention and encourages individuals to prioritize their well-being. Hariqo expressed optimism that with each Independence Day celebration, more Indonesians would be liberated from illnesses. The administration under President Prabowo has implemented various priority programs like CKG, the “Stop TB” campaign, hospital revitalization, and special allowances for medical specialists in remote areas. Despite Indonesia’s 80th year of independence, the country still faces the economic and social burden of diseases affecting productivity and GDP. Investing in health is not only a social expense but also a strategic economic asset, as evidenced by the economic losses from illnesses like smoking, obesity, and tropical diseases. CKG plays a crucial role in preventing illnesses and providing health education, especially for children facing diabetes, obesity, and other health issues. The goal is to have a healthier population contributing to national development and economic growth, ultimately boosting life expectancy and productivity. Improved public health could lead to significant GDP growth, underscoring the importance of a healthy workforce in economic progress.
