Prabowo Subianto Mengunjungi Kantor PGI, Memperkenalkan Visi-Misi dan Menerima Saran dari Pengurus

Jakarta – Candidate for President number 2, Prabowo Subianto, paid a visit to the Office of the Fellowship of Churches in Indonesia (PGI) at Graha Oikoumene, Jakarta, on Friday, January 19, 2024. At the event attended by former PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) politician Maruarar Sirait, Prabowo conveyed Christmas and New Year’s messages and introduced a book of vision, mission, and programs offered together with vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

In a dialogue with the PGI officials, Prabowo expressed his joy in being present in the Christmas and New Year atmosphere.

“Hopefully this year brings goodness to all of us,” said Prabowo.

He also stated that he is not a new person in the PGI community, having exchanged views with previous PGI leaders.

Maruarar Sirait emphasized that PGI is a place for him to work through processes, and he invited the PGI officials to discuss with Prabowo and provide constructive suggestions and criticisms.

“Prabowo is very open to listening to input, suggestions, even constructive criticism for the good of the nation and the state,” said Maruarar.

During the event, Prabowo distributed vision-mission books to the attending PGI officials.

“I also brought the book. Maybe it has been distributed? Maybe it can be distributed while I’m talking,” he said.

In response to the complaints and suggestions put forward by the PGI officials, Prabowo assured that the input would be further discussed.

“I will soon meet the Governor of DKI to discuss this. The education issue was also good,” said Prabowo, responding to the requests and hopes of the dialogue participants.

In addition to Maruarar, Prabowo was also accompanied by Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Grace Natalie. PSI is one of the political parties that is part of the Coalition for Indonesia Forward to support Prabowo-Gibran. In the 2024 election, Prabowo-Gibran will compete with two other pairs of candidates, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md.

The campaign period will last until February 10, 2024, while the voting will be held simultaneously on February 14, 2024, after a quiet period from February 11-13, 2024.

In his response, Prabowo Subianto said, “Your requests make sense, I will soon meet the Governor of DKI to discuss this. The education issue was also good. I don’t think I’m a new person in the PGI community.”
