Children of Pacu Jalur Celebrate Meeting President Prabowo

Wirotirta and Aryana, two young Pacu Jalur performers, were filled with excitement as they participated in the Independence Day celebrations at Merdeka Palace on Indonesia’s 80th anniversary. Performing before President Prabowo Subianto was a memorable experience for them, leaving wide smiles on their faces. Dressed in vibrant green traditional Malay attire, they showcased their synchronized and energetic movements, captivating the audience and bringing regional culture pride to the national stage. The children expressed their pride and gratitude, especially when President Prabowo clasped their hands after the performance.

The festive spirit at the palace grounds was palpable, with cheers and applause filling the air as the Pacu Jalur children performed. The celebration featured other performances as well, including a pencak silat troupe displaying martial arts skills and action star Iko Uwais demonstrating the traditional Indonesian art of self-defense. The event concluded with the graceful Tari Payung Merah Putih (Red-and-White Umbrella Dance), adding to the cultural richness of Indonesia’s Independence Day celebration.
