President Prabowo’s Diplomatic Success: IDR 800 Trillion Investments

President Prabowo Subianto’s diplomatic efforts in various countries have been fruitful, as highlighted by the Presidential Communication Office (PCO). The diplomatic missions led by President Prabowo resulted in the signing of numerous memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and substantial investment commitments from several partner nations. According to Philips J. Vermonte, a Senior Expert at the PCO, over 71 MoUs with 13 countries have been secured in less than a year since President Prabowo took office, accompanied by investment commitments totaling nearly IDR 800 trillion from four countries. These achievements were discussed during a public event titled “The Fruits of President Prabowo’s Diplomatic Outreach on the Global Stage” organized by the Central Board of the Gerakan Milenial Pecinta Tanah Air (GEMPITA) at Retro Café, Beltway Office Park in Jakarta. During the event, Vermonte highlighted Indonesia’s entry into the international organization BRICS as a strategic move to expand market access and improve diplomatic relations in the face of global uncertainties. He emphasized that Indonesia’s participation in BRICS does not signify an anti-Western or anti-American stance, noting the importance of engaging with major economies like Russia, China, and India. Furthermore, the event also featured Deputy Foreign Minister Arif Havas Oegroseno, who discussed ongoing efforts to reduce import tariffs and emphasized the importance of making decisions based on national interests rather than emotions. Havas reminded the public to carefully consider data and avoid jumping to conclusions, stressing that foreign policy is driven by national interests.
