Prabowo Welcomes Brazilian President’s Business Leaders Plan in Indonesia

President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, enthusiastically welcomed Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s initiative to bring a large group of Brazilian entrepreneurs to Indonesia during a bilateral meeting at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília. Prabowo highlighted the potential for enhanced cooperation between the two countries, particularly in trade and investment, through such initiatives. He emphasized the shared interests and abundant resources of both Indonesia and Brazil, underscoring the need to translate cooperation agreements into tangible outcomes.

Prabowo praised Brazil’s advancements in agriculture and bioenergy, expressing a desire to learn from Brazil’s experiences in these fields. He also appreciated President Lula’s support for Indonesia’s plan to send technical teams to study Brazil’s innovations and agricultural technologies. Beyond their discussions in Brasília, Prabowo’s visit to Brazil included participation in the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, with President Lula reciprocating the visit with a planned trip to Indonesia in October.

Looking ahead to Lula’s upcoming 80th birthday in October, Prabowo teased a grand celebration in Jakarta to honor the Brazilian President’s milestone. The meeting between the two leaders underscored the potential for strengthened economic ties and knowledge exchange between Indonesia and Brazil, setting the stage for deeper cooperation in the future.
