State of Play February 2026 recently announced that the God of War Trilogy Remake is currently in development, sparking excitement and concerns among fans of the franchise. The PlayStation event was a momentous occasion for God of War fans, especially after the sudden release of “God of War Sons of Sparta.” Santa Monica Studios dropped a bombshell by revealing that the God of War Trilogy Remake is in the works at the studio.
The game will give all the old franchise titles a remake, starting from scratch using a new engine and graphics. In a trailer presented by TC Carson, the voice behind Kratos, it was mentioned that the game project is still in the early stages of development. Excitement overflowed in the comments section of the YouTube trailer. However, there are also concerns from fans regarding the project, particularly with regards to potential censorship in certain parts of the game, especially involving Aphrodite. If that part is not censored, the game could potentially receive an Adult Only rating, something fans do not want.
