Tom Lembong-Hasto Resmi Bebas Setelah Diberi Abolisi Prabowo

Mantan Menteri Perdagangan Thomas Trikasih Lembong dan Sekretaris Jenderal PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto finally gained their freedom on Friday night, after President Prabowo Subianto granted them amnesty and clemency. Lembong was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for a corruption case involving sugar imports, while Kristiyanto received a 3.5-year sentence for bribery in the KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan case. Lembong was released from Cipinang Prison wearing a blue shirt and black pants, greeted by his wife, friends, including former Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan, and supporters. In his first statement after release, Lembong expressed his appreciation for the clemency. He acknowledged the difficult decision made and respected it as a constitutional decision based on careful consideration. Lembong also thanked Prabowo, friends, legal team, and family for their unwavering support throughout the process. On the same night, Kristiyanto was also released from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detention. He expressed gratitude for being granted amnesty. Kristiyanto thanked the PDIP chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri, village heads, Prabowo, the DPR, and Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas for their support. The night before their release, DPR Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad announced the agreement between the DPR and the Ministry of Law on the President’s proposal to grant clemency and amnesty to Lembong and Kristiyanto. Once approved, President Prabowo issued a Presidential Decree (Keppres) related to the clemency and amnesty, which was then handed over to the KPK and the Attorney General’s office for the release of Lembong and Kristiyanto.
