President Prabowo Subianto has been a strong advocate of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG) for Indonesian children since 2006, long before his victory in the 2024 presidential election. His dedication to this cause was highlighted by his younger brother, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, during an event commemorating International Disability Day in South Jakarta on 7 January. Even during the 2014 election campaign, Prabowo consistently emphasized the importance of providing adequate nutrition and education to Indonesian children, envisioning a brighter future for the nation. After being inaugurated as the 8th President of Indonesia in October 2024, Prabowo officially launched the MBG programme on 6th January 2025, extending its reach to all 31 provinces of the country.
